Liam J. Dowler BFE is an offline film and television editor based in South Wales, with over a decade of professional experience. His passion for film began in his teens, when he started creating fan-made films and visual effects videos in Adobe After Effects — a creative spark that grew into a lifelong dedication to storytelling through editing.

After graduating from Newport Film School in 2013, Liam began his career cutting commercials and documentaries for agencies and studios across Cardiff, working with brands such as Porsche, Fairtrade, Virgin, and Jägermeister. His path naturally evolved toward long-form storytelling through online documentaries, before moving into broadcast television as Lead Editor on Horsepower (2022, Amazon Prime) and, more recently, The Royal Procession: 200 Years (2025, ITV). He is currently editing a feature film set in South Africa, slated for release in 2026.

Liam’s multi-faceted skill set also extends into motion design — he has created numerous TV show titles and graphics packages, for live and none live broadcast slates across various productions.

Deeply drawn to stories that explore the intricacies of the human condition, Liam gravitates toward projects that uncover raw truths about the world we live in. As an editor, he thrives on shaping these narratives and frequently collaborates with writing teams to refine story structure and tone.

Working from a fully remote setup, Liam’s preferred NLE is Adobe Premiere Pro, with advanced proficiency in After Effects and a strong foundation in storytelling craft.

Liam is always keen to connect with new collaborators and hear about exciting film and television projects. Whether you’re developing a feature, documentary, or branded campaign, he welcomes conversations about creative ideas and storytelling opportunities.
